Whitney Company, circa 1922. Predominately Christmas related, with a few pages of Halloween and a page or two of Thanksgiving. Includes many samples for labels, seals, tags, some postcards, and the usual greeting cards. Several cards have moveable features. 9 Halloween related items present, with others MISSING. The George C. Whitney Company was a card manufacturing company best known for its Valentine's Day cards. The company was open from the mid 1800s to 1942, when it closed, partially due to paper shortages caused by World War II. FAIR condition. Minor to moderate soiling and staining to the covers, with rust staining along the lower fore edge. Moderate curling and warping to the book. Some loss along the extremities, apparent chewing damage. Samples in the interior range from poor to very good in condition, with some DETACHED, some torn, and some MISSING. Some with minor soiling and foxing. Writing on the first page.
