A limited reissue of the 1825 edition, with added material, including an historical preface, a map of the of the route of the Indians, and a contemporary letter corroborating some of the details. An account of Nathaniel Segar's service during the Revolutionary War, as well his subsequent capture by Native Americans during a raid on the town of Bethel, Maine. Published by Charles Everitt, the noted American bookseller who specialized in Americana. GOOD condition. Spine split, chipped, and torn along its entire length, with cloth tape present along the hinges, although not helping in the reinforcement of the perished binding. Pencil note on the rear cover. Minor toning.
