With discussion of volcanoes and earthquakes, both in general terms and specific locations. Thomas Gisborne was and Anglican priest who fought for abolition in England, as well as being a noted scriptural geologist. GOOD condition, ex-theological institution library. Spine label, interior pastedowns, markings and stamping present. Heavy chipping, splitting and flaking to the spine, with loss of paper. Covers splitting along the hinges, being somewhat tenuously attached. Large dampstains to both covers, with spotting, foxing and soiling present. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Minor scattered foxing in the interior, heavy to the endpapers.
