no date, presumed late 1800s. Greenish/gold illustrated cloth. Elephant folio. 50 color plates mounted on thick card paper, each plate measuring 9 ½ by 6 ¼ inches. All plates loose. With a short foreword, in French. A collection of prints after the watercolor paintings of Jean Baes, a 19th century Belgian architect and artist, depicting various towers and church tops in Belgium. POOR condition. Front cover DETACHED, with spine cloth hanging on to the rear cover. Moderate scuffing, uneven fading and darkening to the covers. Minor soiling and staining. Heavy scuffing to the cloth along the extremities. All plates and pages LOOSE and separated from each other. Heavy chipping, browning and loss to the card stock pages, with all paper being rather brittle and flaking easily with handling. Color plates still bright and clean. A rough copy of this work in poor condition.
