Stiff wraps with six leaves. A phototype printing of 6 views of Matsushima in Japan by Ogawa Kazumasa, a Japanese photographer who was an early pioneer in photomechanical printing and photography in late 19th century Japan. POOR condition. Entire piece SEPARATED and DETACHED, with covers and photos each loose. Tissue guards attached to the inside covers, with some guards missing, Heavy chipping, creasing, and tearing along the extremities of the covers, with minor chipping and tearing along the photo plates. Covers with minor soiling and rubbing. General toning. Tissue guards rather worn and brittle, with creasing and loss. Faint dampstaining along the left edge of the plates. Light scattered soiling. Apparent staple holes along the right edge of all pages. Paper toned in the interior.
