Full leather with five raised bands and gilt decorated compartments on the spine. (10), 1320, (20) pp. With a frontispiece portrait and illustrated headpiece. All text in Latin. A lengthy piece of theology, touching on various theological beliefs and theories, primarily relating to Christianity. This includes chapters on Jesus Christ and his role in theological concepts, etc. Johann Franz Buddeus was a German theologian and philosopher, being a moderate Lutheran (Wikipedia). GOOD condition, ex-theological library. Spine label, pastedown and some stamping in the interior. Minor bumping, scuffing and edgewear, heavier to the corners and lower spine. Leather missing from the head of the spine. Some ink notes on the first pages and inside cover (partially covered with the library plate). Frontispiece DETACHED and laid in, with some chipping/tearing along its edges. Scattered foxing throughout. Some pages heavily browned, with general browning throughout.
