Part II of this three part work that aims to attribute the origin and learning from philosophy to ancient Hebrew scriptures. This part contains chapters on Phoenician, Chaldaic, Magi and Druid philosophy and philosophers, as well as the many various branches of Greek philosophy and philosophers. Theophilus Gale was a 17th century English theologian, known for his dissent from the English church and his nonconformist views. POOR/FAIR condition, ex-theological library. Library bookplate and blindstamps in the interior. Both covers very TENUOUSLY attached to the text block. Leather spine MISSING. Leather chipped, torn and flaking, with some loss, along the extremities. Uneven darkening, minor soiling and scuffing to the covers. Text block solid, with minor scattered soiling and a few small stains. Lower corners of the first several pages of the preface torn and worn, perhaps damage from worming. Reference copy only.
