A short, technical discussion of fossil finds on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, particularly around the Gay Head area, explaining the geology of the area, the nature of the fossils, and what their discovery may mean in relation to ancient geology and prehistoric life. With two plates, one a map of the island and another depicting various fossil samples. GOOD condition. Heavy wrinkle/crease to the lower front cover. General fading, uneven browning and minor soiling to the covers. Minor chipping along the extremities, with some splitting along the spine. Interior clean and solid.
