Printed wraps. 221 pp. A single issue of this magazine, originally named the 'Unpopular Review,' and containing articles on literature, politics, history, etc. This issue features the poem 'Threnody' by the Imagist poet Amy Lowell, as well as an article by Walter Gordon Merritt 'Social Control of Industrial Strife,' in which he argues for society regulating the need to strike. Recognizing workers' rights to organize and strike for better working conditions, etc., Merritt also cites overreaching by unions and times where a strike is unnecessary and detrimental, in which case, society should encourage a different resolution. Also included is an article on prison reform in the United States, citing historical cases of reform, in light of recent reforms in the penal system. GOOD condition. Mostly minor general soiling to the covers, with general browning and a few minor stains. Rear cover with a 3 by ½ inch superficial abrasion to the wrap. Wrappers split along the lower hinges, with some chipping and creasing. Minor bumping and curling along the extremities. Interior clean and solid with a small dampstain affecting the lower corner of the last several pages.
