Printed wraps. Pagination runs 51-108, plus ads in the rear. A single issue of this journal devoted to dentistry and practice of medicine. This issue contains chemical essays, os-artificial vindicated, discussions of the proceedings of various societies and short passages discussing the use of aluminum and new metals, the spectroscope, agents for the removals of stains, a recipe for a paste, the benefits of sleep, a piece recalling an anecdote of a girl's thumb tip being successfully reattached after it had been accidently cut off, etc. Jonathan Taft, one of the editors of this journal, is considered to have been one of the 'greatest figures in the development of the dental profession' (see US National Library of Medicine). GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy browning along the extremities, with some dampstaining along the lower front cover. Uneven fading and minor soiling. Wrappers chipped and torn along the spine, with some loss. Minor chipping and creasing along the rear fore edge. Interior clean and solid with minor foxing to the fore edge.
