Illustrated wraps, printed in red and black. Pagination runs 273-344. With black and white illustrations. A single issue of this long running magazine for juveniles, with this number containing a piece by Louisa May Alcott, 'Helping Along,' the first piece in a series titled 'Talks with Girls,' being a moral tale combining a short parable with commentary. Also in this issue is a poem by John Greenleaf Whittier, an article on how to make snowshoes, etc. GOOD+ condition. Mostly minor uneven browning to the wraps. Minor soiling. Some scuffing, bumping, minor creasing and a few small tears along the extremities. Interior clean and solid with an old white tape repair to the bottom edge of the inside front cover.
