51 pp. With black and white photos throughout. A guide to an exhibition of eleven wampum belts that had been repatriated to the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy in 1988. Using this event, this work provides a history of the belts, their significance and meaning to both Iroquoian and Algonkian tribal systems. GOOD condition. Large abrasion/tape scuff present vertically down the center front cover, perhaps from the removal of a 2 inch wide strip of packing tape. Minor scuffing, fading and creasing. Very light soiling. Minor edgewear. Interior clean and solid. Previous owner's last name on the inside front cover.
