Wraps. 48 pages. The first issue of this journal written "In support of the principles of Jeffersonian Democracy as enunciated by the author of the Declaration of Independence and maintained by the illustrious leaders of the party, from Jefferson to Wilson." The editor and publisher (and perhaps author), Metcalf, saw this work as a means to counter Republican policies and philosophies, arguing in his preface that most newspapers and journals of the day were owned by Republicans. This issue examines the Republican strategy for the upcoming presidential election, American foreign policy, Henry Cabot Lodge and his ideas, etc. Perhaps the first and only issue of this journal.
