Disbound pamphlet. 3pp. A letter recalling G.W. Getty's extensive military service, including his service in the Mexican War, in Michigan removing Native Americans from that state to a reservation west of the Mississippi, and in the Civil War, recalling his participation in the siege of Yorktown, the battle of Antietam, the siege of Petersburg and many other notable battles. Of note is a short letter from W.T. Sherman attesting to the character and service of Getty, recalling their service together at various times. VERY GOOD condition with binding holes and some creasing along the spine. Minor toning to the paper.
