In several sections, this work provides and exhaustive reference on all aspects of horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and various poultry, including many breeds of chickens, giving a history and methods of breeding, rearing, training, feeding, housing, etc. as well as giving entries of diseases and maladies that may afflict livestock, offering remedies for them. Bound in library style buckram, although not an ex-lib copy. In FAIR condition. Appears to be LACKING the title page, introduction and first table of contents and begins with the first page of the horse section. This section is not lacking any material, and subsequent sections have their table of contents, etc. Some soiling, minor scuffing and general fading to the covers. Minor edgewear. Interior is well bound. Dampstain present along the top edge of the first half of the book, affecting mostly the upper margin and the gutter of the first several pages and disappearing by the middle of the book. Faint dampstain present along the bottom page edges in several spots. Sporadic foxing throughout, with some soiling and darkening to some of the pages. A few other minor dampstains present. The first page of the text has a jagged 1 by 3 inch tear along the lower gutter, with some loss of text. Author and name of the book written in pencil atop the first page. Some foxing to the page edges. Solid in FAIR condition.
