Side folding tabloid format. 28 pp., plus the A-T classified ads section (offering an apparent A-T selection of adult entertainment). A later issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with the "Notes of a Dirty Old Man" column by Charles Bukowski (in the classified section); an interview with and article on Patti Smith, including a photo and printing of her poem "Detroit Piano;" Los Angeles town planning; James Earl Ray, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Minor wrinkling along the extremities. Light soiling.
