Ninth edition, from the third improved edition, with corrections. Printed paper covered boards with calf leather spine. 208 pp. Small black and white illustrations throughout. A book on the geography of the earth, with much information on culture and people of various regions and countries throughout the world, accompanied by small illustrations. This includes what was then the Western United States, Russian America (Alaska), Japan, Australasia, including islands of the South Pacific, Borneo, etc., China, Persia, Africa, etc. FAIR condition. Very heavy chipping, uneven darkening, scuffing, loss of paper and other wear to the covers, including some soiling and staining. Extremities bumped, worn and rounded. A front endpaper may be missing. Some doodling to the first and last pages, in pencil, with owner's signatures in ink. Scattered soiling and staining in the interior.
