With a frontis illustration and small illustrations heading each chapter. A fictional account of a journey to Antarctica, geared toward juvenile audiences. In GOOD+ condition. Minor soiling to the covers with a small noticeable dark spot on the rear cover. Some scuffing, especially along the fore edges and extremities. Some fading to the covers with minor scuffing and wear to the gilt cover illustration. Spine sunned. Extremities scuffed with some bumping to the corners and pulling/fraying to the spine. Front hinge cracked in the interior and rather weak. Text block clean and solid with general darkening to the pages and a previous owner's inscription on the ffep. Nice copy in GOOD+ condition.
