Texas Cowboys

Stated first edition. Hardcover in dust jacket. With 31 photographs by the author. A classic piece of western Americana, depicting the life of the Texas cowboys working on the San Carlos Indian Reservation, from the Cherrycow horse changing to the Cherrycow round up. By living and traveling with the cowboys, Coolidge illuminates the lost world of the American West. Also included are some cowboy songs and ballads. GOOD jacket and book. Jacket protected in mylar. Light to moderate soiling and scuffing. Spine sun faded. Many small tears along jacket extremities with some chipping to the head and foot of the spine, including a 1/3 inch section missing from the foot. Reverse of jacket has been reinforced by previous owner with masking tape along the top edge. This is peeling away and does not appear to have discolored the inside of jacket or caused any unusual wear or marks. Owner's dedication at the top of the front flap. Light scuffing to the extremities of the book with a hint of darkening. Some moderate foxing along the gutters of the endpapers. The text itself is clean and solid with minor foxing to a few of the photo plates. Page 155 has a ½ wide by 3 inch long piece torn out of the margin. This in no way affects the text but does give the book its good grading, otherwise very minor wear to the book, attractive in a GOOD jacket.
