A detailed study of the material and styles used for bed linens, drawing on primary sources, including inventories of estates, diaries, and contemporary accounts that mention the fabrics, etc. Also discussed are early American sleeping arrangements, the type of linens used, as well as a comparison to British materials and traditions. With many black and white photos illustrating different examples. GOOD condition, ex-museum library. Pocket, pastedown and spine label present. Minor stamping in the interior. Rear cover soiled, with minor curling and creasing along the cover extremities. Minor scuffing. Spine very faded. Interior clean and solid with dog-ear creases present to a few pages.

Minor fading, soiling and edgewear to the book. Interior solid, with minor sporadic underlining in pencil.
