All in blue illustrated wraps. Pagination varies throughout, ranging from about 40 to 50 plus pages. Black and white illustrations throughout. A set of 8 books from Beery's mail order course on horsemanship, with a smaller booklet on How To Tell a Horse's Disposition at Sight. Topics in the eight books include colt training, disposition and subjection, kicking and balking, shying and running away, bad to shoe and halter pulling, promiscuous vices, overcoming special fears, and teaching tricks. Professor Jesse Beery was a noted horse trainer from Ohio, working in the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. Beery traveled the United States displaying his training skills, before returning to Ohio to establish his correspondence school. Many of his techniques are still referred to today (see Wikipedia). GOOD condition. Uneven toning and offsetting to the wrappers, ranging from minor to heavy. Minor chipping, tearing and wear along the extremities. Some foxing in the interiors, mostly to the title pages. Book six wrapper a lighter shade of blue than the others.

Color illustrated wraps. Black and white illustrations and photos throughout. A single issue of this magazine, featuring "Indian Fights and Fighters," by Cyrus Townsend Brady, on article in a series, with this one focusing on the actions of Red Cloud. With a black and white frontis illustration for this article, as well as a few in text illustrations. Also present is an article, with photos on boxing horses, an article on Japan and its patriotism, an article on forestry problems in the United States, etc. GOOD condition. Heavy wrinkling and creasing to the wrappers along the extremities, with some chipping, tearing and loss. Minor fading and soiling. Date in pencil on the front cover. First page of ads TORN out and MISSING. Lower page corners creased and curled. Minor toning and scattered soiling in the interior.

A history of Brocklebank's equestrian and coaching days, especially from 1905 to 1914, with coaching in the Lake District discussed, her participation in the quick change competition and coaching marathon at Olympia, as well as adventure with Baroness Orczy. GOOD jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Moderate darkening with mostly minor soiling to the jacket. Some scuffing, especially along the extremities, which bear a few small tears at the corners as well as some minor creases. Price sticker (handwritten) present on the upper front cover of the jacket near the corner. Minor soiling, fading and edgewear to the book. Text clean and solid with a hint of darkening to the pages.

With many chapters devoted to the proper equipment for horses, as well as the selection and care of horses. This edition with chapters on hunters and hunting by Harry W. Smith; exhibiting by Francis Ware; hints on driving by Frederick Ashenden; riding and driving for women by Belle Beach. GOOD condition. Moderate scuffing and some fading to the covers, with heavy scuffing and fading to the spine. Extremities frayed and worn. Several owner's signatures present, with notes on the inside front cover. A few stray pencil underlines and check marks in the text. One page offset from a clipping laid in. Interior hinges weak but holding.

In GOOD condition. Jacket in former owner's clear tissue style wrapper, taped to the interior of the jacket with yellowed tape. Minor soiling, fading, browning and scuffing to the jacket. A few faint spots of foxing on the rear panel. Minor edgewear, mostly to the head of the spine. Vertical crease down the length of the spine. Moderate soiling, fading and scuffing to the covers and extremities of the book. Spine head and foot frayed, with a small fray and split in the center of the backstrip. Faint ring marks on the rear cover. Slight rippling to the cloth near the lower rear corner, appearing to be from the binding process Binding solid with general but mostly minor darkening to the pages, moderate soiling to the endpapers and minor scattered soiling and foxing throughout the book. Minor to moderate soiling to the jacket, with heavy soiling along the top front extremity. General darkening and some scuffing to the jacket. A 4 by 3 inch triangular piece of the jacket is MISSING from the lower rear panel, with several small tears extending from that locale. Some creasing also present there. Heavy chipping, tearing and creasing along the upper jacket extremity. Minor soiling and fading to the book, mostly along the extremities. Minor scuffing to the extremities. Two small wrinkles to the cloth on the lower spine, apparently part of the binding process. Slight lean to the binding. Interior clean and solid with very faint sporadic foxing to a few pages. POOR jacket on a VERY GOOD book.
