Stated third edition. Full title: A Natural History of English Song-Birds, and Such of the Foreign as are usually brought over and esteem'd for their Singing. To which are added, Figures of the Cock, Hen and Egg of each Species, copied from Nature, by Mr. Eleazar Albin, and curiously engraven on Copper. Also, a particular Account how to order the Canary-Birds in Breeding; likewise their Diseases and Cure. Full leather, dark calf with minor gilt banding along the extremities and 5 raised bands on the spine. 99 pages plus a one page advertisement in the rear. 3 leaves including frontis at the front, plus 1 bird illustrations preceding the first page of the text. 23 illustrations present, including 22 bird plates and a frontis. LACKING one plate. Plates include a sketch of the various birds' eggs. A general look at various English song-birds, describing their attributes, breeding habits, etc. Includes studies of various finches, larks, the robin, wren, yellowhammer, nightingale, etc. In FAIR condition. Front cover DETACHED, with the rear hanging by threads. Mostly minor scuffing to the covers, with a few spots on the front cover, a bit deeper and perhaps the result of worming. Heavy scuffing to the extremities with the leather worn at the corners and head and foot of the spine. Worming present in the leather at the upper compartment at the head of the spine. Some bumping along the extremities. Text block solid with minor general tanning to the pages, and minor scattered foxing and soiling. A few faint dog-ear creases present. Upper right corner of the title page cut away in the shape of a rectangle. Several ownership inscriptions/signatures/stamps present to the first endpaper, frontis, title and introductory page.

A history of this river in Northwestern Maine, from its importance to the timer and logging industries, who waged private wars against Canada to keep its timber, to its rejuvenation by conservationists in the 1960's. FAIR jacket on a GOOD book. Moderate to heavy soiling, some scuffing and moderate to heavy browning to the jacket. Heavy wear to the extremities with many small tears, a few chips, and some creasing. Small drip stain present near the lower front fore edge. Spine heavily browned. Overall HEAVY wear to the jacket. The book has general fading, with heavier fading to the extremities and spine. Minor soiling. Extremities bumped. Text clean and solid with minor darkening to the pages.

In GOOD+ condition with a striking binding. Bound in dark cloth, the book has a rather ornate gilt decoration on the binding. This is now somewhat faded but still attractive. Two small chips missing from it near the top. Light soiling to the book covers. Corners bumped; spine a bit pulled. Inner text clean and solid with foxing throughout, nothing major that affects readability. Some pages faded but again, still readable. Charming little book in GOOD+ condition with a nice binding decoration.

GOOD condition. EX-LIBRARY. Call numbers in white on the spine and some stamping in the interior. Area of discoloration/dampstaining to the lower front cover. General fading, some darkening, minor soiling and a few small stains to the covers. Cloth scuffed and frayed along the extremities. Lengthy annotation to the inside front cover and first endpaper, with an ownership inscription. Interior hinges cracked. Faint intermittent dampstain along the lower edge in the interior. A few pages with offsetting from items laid in. Sabin 24662.

Light fading to the gilt. Spine sun faded. Some scuffing to the extremities including bumping to the corners and pulling to the spine. One small dark stain near the hinge of the lower back cover. Inner text is clean and well bound with some browning to the page edges. Some of the tissue guards are a bit tattered along the extremities; some are also loose but laid in. All illustrations called for are present. Nice copy of this work in GOOD+ condition.

A printing of the flower paintings of Pierre-Joseph Redoute, originally published in the early 1800s, that served to document many different types of flowers, not just those from the family Liliaceae. With an introduction documenting the life of Redoute, as well as explaining the importance of flower painting to both art and science. Also present are descriptions of each plate in the rear. Pierre-Joseph Redoute was a French painter from the late 1700s, early 1800s, perhaps best known for his work with flowers. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading, bumping, rubbing, soiling and edgewear to the jacket. Minor fading and edgewear to the book.

GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy uneven mottling and fading to the covers. Minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear. Moderate dampstain affecting the fore edge margin of the last 1/3 of the book, with some pinkish discoloration from the cloth affecting the last several pages. Minor toning to the paper.
