With brief discussion of William Morris, Gustav Stickley and Louis Comfort Tiffany and many other designers. Color and black and white examples of interiors throughout. VERY GOOD condition. Minor rubbing and edgewear to the jacket and book. Owner's signature on the half title.

This with articles such as "Samuel McIntire, Master Carpenter;" " A Los Angeles House," which discusses the architecture and design of the Mrs. William Ramsay House designed by T.S. Rochrig; "A Complete Bookbinder" discussing modern fine bindings done by Miss Mary Crease Sears, with photos, and other articles on decorative arts, etc. GOOD condition. Some browning, toning, soiling and minor spotting to the covers. Owner's name in pencil to the top front cover. Some splitting along the spine.

Color illustrated wraps. Folio. A single issue of this journal devoted to architecture, interior design and other aspects of house planning and decoration. This issue with an article on 'A cottage in the city' depicting a residence presumably in the Portland, Oregon region; "Four Picturesque Gardens at Bar Harbor, Maine" etc. FAIR/GOOD condition. One page of ads cut in half lengthwise, thus MISSING half the leaf. Minor to moderae toning, soiling, staining and wrinkling to the wrappers. Small amount of insect wear along the top edge. A few small tears along the extremities, with the spine split, chipped and worn, including some loss. Some toning in the interior.

First edition, first printing. Brown cloth in unclipped jacket. Quarto. 256 pp. Color photos throughout. A study of the birth and evolution of French interior decoration as seen in 18th century France. Inspired by artists and craftsmen brought in from Italy and the Low countries to serve the Sun King, other French aristocrats and financiers drew on those influences to decorate their estates and businesses, serving to solidify a French style. With photos from previously undocumented interiors, as well as research drawn from original records and letters. GOOD jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Minor rubbing, fading and edgewear to the jacket, with a 1 inch tear along the upper front flap hinge. Foxing to the reverse of the jacket. Minor fading to the book. First endpapers foxed. Minor toning to the text block.
