OCLC records suggest a date of 1877 but this appears a bit later. Stiff wraps. Small booklet. 22 pp. With an illustration of the birth house of Daniel Webster. A recollection of the meeting between Webster and his brother-in-law John Colby, in which Webster explains his Christian faith and shortcomings to Colby, who has become repentant. Interspersed with quotes from the Bible. A seemingly thinly disguised religious parable. In GOOD+ condition. Gilt illustration of Webster and titling very faded on the front cover, with general fading to the wraps. Minor edgewear. Interior clean and solid with mostly minor foxing to the first and last few pages.

Half leather with dark brown cloth. Marbled page edges and endpapers. 611, 666 pp. With maps and black and white illustrations throughout. A detailed account of the life and military career of Napoleon Bonaparte, recounting his various campaigns and battles, as well as his life as emperor and in exile. GOOD condition. Heavy fading to the covers, with moderate to heavy scuffing to the cloth. Heavy scuffing to the leather at the corners and along the hinges, with some superficial loss, and some wear through at the corners. Leather title bands on the spine mostly chipped away and missing, with a few small remnants present. Some cracking and flaking to the leather on the spine, with a small hole at the foot of volume 1. Minor soiling. Interiors solid, with minor toning to the paper and very minor scattered soiling. Previous owner's gift inscription present, gifted to David Greene Haskins Jr., a Boston, Massachusetts area member of the Anti-Imperialism League in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

Minor insect damage in the gutter between the front cover and first endpaper. Large ownership signature, from New Orleans and dated 1863, on the first endpaper. Text block a bit weak but intact. Scattered foxing, soiling and minor staining.
