Printed white wraps. 64 pp. No illustrations or plates present. A catalog to a 1891 auction of coins from Germany, Europe, ancient Greece and Rome, as well as a collection of US silver dollars. GOOD condition. Scott stamps to the front cover and title page. Some foxing, staining and minor soiling to the wraps. Several creases and wrinkles present. Small chip at the tail of the spine. Minor toning in the interior.

Quarter leather with brown cloth. Lxxx, 808, plus 5 plates in the rear. Small illustrations of various coins throughout. A detailed study and history of Greek coins and numismatics, discussing various methods of exchange, metric systems of the Egyptians, Babylonians and Assyrians, Phoenician traders, derivation of coin weights, transmission of weight standards from Asia to Europe, Greek coin types, inscriptions, etc. Chapters then are separated by ancient regions, including Hispania, Britannia, Gallia, Italy, Macedon, Thrace, Aetolia, Armenia, Syria, Arabia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Mauretania, etc. Barclay Head was a British numismatist, working for the British Museum and helping to catalog their extensive collection of Greek coins, as well as authoring this definitive work on the subject. GOOD condition. Large chip of leather peeled down and stuck to the spine at the head, with some minor tearing, chipping and loss at the foot. Leather rather worn, scuffed, frayed and cracked along the spine. General fading to the cloth, with some soiling and minor stains. Moderate to heavy bumping and scuffing along the extremities. Interior binding cracked at the front and rear hinges, but holding. Some browning to the paper. Minor scattered staining and soiling throughout. A few stray notes in the text.

Stated third edition. Orange red cloth with a red leather spine. xxiv, 420 pp. Black and white plates throughout. All text in French. Volume 1 ONLY of this study of medals issued by the Roman Empire, as well as European medals issued during the same period. GOOD condition. Moderate scuffing, heavy along the hinges. Minor soiling. Minor spots of staining to the covers. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Interior hinges cracked but intact. Uneven moderate to heavy browning to the paper throughout, with moderate to heavy scattered foxing. Former owner's bookplate on the inside front cover, with dark shading on and around it, perhaps from the glue used.

Heavy creasing to the wraps, with chipping and tearing along the extremities. Covers with extensive but faint, spotting and staining. Light toning in the interior.
