Issue number two of this British fanzine published from 1979 to 1981, using collage and varying typographic formats to present a visually appealing review of various punk and new wave acts. Included are interviews and reviews of The Cure, Ruts, The Fall, The Clash, the Damned and others. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning. Some curling to the corners. Triggs p. 77.

Black and white photo illustrated wraps. Side stapled. 8 by 11 inches. 16 pages including covers. Black and white photos throughout. Named after a song by the Dictators, Young, Fast and Scientific was a fanzine issued by Todd Abramson, covering punk, new wave and no wave acts through interviews, reviews and opinion pieces. Abramson is perhaps better known for his work with the influential bar/club Maxwell's, in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he booked music acts throughout the 1980s and 90s. This inaugural issue features pieces on the Ramones, the Dictators, the Sic Fucks, The Real Kids by Bernard Kugel, Loretta Baretta, etc. With photographs by Robert Barry Francos, Loretta Baretta and others. VERY GOOD condition. Mostly minor uneven browning to the wraps, with light wrinkling and creasing. Very minor soiling.

This issue with a lengthy interview/conversation with Gerard Malanga, as well as a centerfold 'poster' of John Sex. Bikini Girl was noted for its critical and incisive look at femininity and female sexuality, especially as depicted in mainstream culture, as well as documenting the underground culture of New York City. GOOD+ condition. Fading and offsetting present along the extremities. Minor soiling. Light edgewear.

Three staples along the left edge. 14 leaves, including covers. 8 by 11 inches. Front and rear cover printed in green. Black and white photos throughout. This includes pictures of the Dead Boys, Devo, the Dictators and others. Second issue of this New York based fanzine that offered information and commentary on No Wave, punk and new wave music and musicians. This issue contains short pieces on Devo, the Dictators and the Dead Boys, as well as reviews of new records. Beat It was founded and run by Rick Brown, then a student at NYU, and Julia Gorton, then a student at Parson. Gorton was involved primarily as a photographer, documenting many of the punk and No Wave acts in York. Her work was used by NY Rocker, among other places (Moore and Cooley, p. 41-43, 137, 139). GOOD+ condition. Minor toning. Staples a bit rusted. Several small brown drip stains to the front cover.

#198 of 300. Single staple at the upper left corner. 23 pp. 8 by 11 inches. Black and white photos throughout, including several full page photos and the front cover. This includes pictures of The Jam, Elvis Costello and Attractions, the Hot Rods and others. Apparent third issue of this New York based fanzine that offered information and commentary on No Wave, punk and new wave music and musicians. This issue contains short pieces on Elvis Costello, the Hot Rods, etc., and reviews of various albums and singles including the Ramones, Elvis Costello, The Jam, the Mumps, and many others. Beat It was founded and run by Rick Brown, then a student at NYU, and Julia Gorton, then a student at Parson. Gorton was involved primarily as a photographer, documenting many of the punk and No Wave acts in York. Her work was used by NY Rocker, among other places (Moore and Cooley, p. 41-43, 137, 139). GOOD+ condition. Minor bumping and creasing along the extremities. Front and rear cover browned, especially along the extremities. Minor soiling. Red ink spot to the lower rear cover. Old staple holes present along the left edge.

Possible first issue of this punk fanzine using the DIY aesthetic of the genre effectively to present pieces on the Screamers, Crime, the Nuns, Avengers, the Damned and others. With photographs by James Stark, a pioneer photographer of the San Francisco punk scene. GOOD condition. Mostly minor browning, a bit heavier along the extremities. Minor soiling. Rear cover creased and bearing heavier soiling. Minor bumping along the extremities. Stapled twice at the upper left corner.

A single issue of 'one of the most aesthetically influential fanzines of the British punk and post-punk periods,' with graphics that 'prefigured eighties modernity' (Berniere and Primois p. 225-226). This issue contains interviews/articles on the band Blurt, a discussion of anarchy as a political system, and general commentary on British society and the punk scene. With cartoons by Michael J. Weller, a British artist and writer known for his style inspired by the American underground comic scene. VERY GOOD condition. Minor soiling. A few small bumps and wrinkles along the extremities.

As such it relates the life and loves of a character immersed in the punk culture of the San Francisco area. Originally started in 1981, Cometbus at first covered local punk bands in the California area, eventually evolving into a zine that documented his personal experiences and opinions on punk culture, especially that of the bay area of California, as well as exploring cultural topics tangential to, and not related to punk. NEAR FINE condition. Very minor curling along the extremities. Small ink price on the first endpaper.

A mail or correspondence art type piece that reproduces insults, letters, art and commentary from various people, initiated and assembled by Irene Dogmatic. This includes a page by William Gaglione, a key figure in the mail art movement in the San Francisco area in the 1970s. Irene Dogmatic was a member of a few Bay area punk bands in the 1970s, while at the same time pursuing and continuing as career in art, working in different mediums. Her work is held in several collections. VERY GOOD condition. Minor offsetting and fading. Light wrinkling along the extremities.

The first issue of this fanzine by Tony Drayton, the former editor/publisher of Ripped and Torn. Kill Your Pet Puppy embraced the anarcho-punk ideals emerging from the punk rock scene that had become commercialized, discussing politics as well as bands. This issue covers Adam and the Ants and Crass, as well as the use and abuse of the drug Tuinal. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and light wrinkling. Some soiling/faint staining to the rear cover.

Fancher is perhaps best known for founding Frontier Records in 1980, which promoted many influential punk and hardcore bands from the LA area, including the Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Adolescents and many others. This issue has articles or reviews on the Sex Pistols, discussing rumors of them signing to American label, as well as their swearing on a British television show; the Screamers, the Ramones, an interview with Greg Shaw, etc. VERY GOOD condition. Moderate browning along the extremities and rear cover. Old recipient's name and address in ink, with a post office stamp, on the rear cover. Minor edgewear.

With short articles and photos on bands and performers such as Blondie, Johnny Rotten, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, the Ramones, the Dead Boys, AC/DC, etc. Color photos of the Clash, The Ramones and others. VERY GOOD condition. Slight cocking to the front cover. Minor edgewear. Some toning to the paper in the interior.
