Boston Robinson, Greene and Co 1860 no Wraps Good 
Illustrated wraps. Pagination runs 149-184. A few illustrations throughout, including one of a train locomotive. A single issue of this magazine for a juvenile audience, featuring 'The Young Philosopher,' by W.T. Adams, discussing trains, railroads and their design and use. Adams is perhaps better known by his pen name Oliver Optic. Also present is the piece 'About A Cat,' by Gail Hamilton (pen name of Mary Abigail Dodge) a writer known for her support of equal opportunities for women. With pieces on the planets, etc. GOOD condition. Covers torn along the lower hinges, about 3 inches in length, with a1 by 2 inch triangular piece missing from the lower rear cover. Covers also split about 4 inches down along the upper hinge. Minor scattered staining to the front cover, with moderate staining to the rear. Minor soiling and browning. Some curling along the extremities. Previous owner's signature in pencil at the upper front cover. Text solid, with minor scattered staining.

Front wrapper torn, chipped and creased along the bottom hinge. Moderate to heavy chipping and small tears along the extremities. Minor soiling and general toning. Pen squiggle to the lower front cover. Partial address label also present.

Bookstore stamp on the inside front cover, with an ownership inscription in pencil to the first endpaper. Frontis coming loose. Text block clean and solid with minor toning.

Minor soiling, fading and scuffing to the covers, with a few small spots of staining. Cloth frayed and scuffed along the extremities. Interior front hinge cracked and splitting, with the cover somewhat tenuously attached.

New York Thomas Nelson and Sons 1927 no Hard Cover Fair No Jacket Hawley Morgan 
Believed first edition. With color illustrations by Hawley Morgan. This scarce children’s tale is in FAIR condition. The backstrip is MISSING, rendering the binding rather weak. The illustrated board covers have some soiling, light scuffing and a few small scribble marks on the rear cover. Moderate edgewear, with scuffing and bumping to the corners. The front cover, weakly attached, has been reinforced with tape at the inner hinges (by previous owner). Second blank endpage has a previous owner’s gift inscription and has also been reinforced into the binding with tape, along with a tear to this page being mended with tape. The inner text is intact with minor soiling. Again, due to missing backstrip, it is very weak and should be handled with care. Despite the heavy wear, this is a charming children’s book, in FAIR condition and with great full page color illustrated plates.

Minor soiling and toning to the covers. Spine browned. Slight lean to the binding.

Another Oz installment, following the adventures of Dorothy, Trot, the Wizard, the Lion etc., and their quest to find a birthday present for Princess Ozma. VERY GOOD condition. Minor soiling, toning and scuffing to the covers. Small piece of paper adhered to the upper rear cover.

Indianapolis Bobbs-Merrill Company 1903 no Cloth Poor 
Blue cloth with a pastedown illustration on the front cover. 237 pp. 12 color plates, plus black and white illustrations throughout, by Frank Verbeck. Presumably mixed or later state with illustrated endpaper, printer in caps, page 50 number faded and a partial D on page 121. The first full length novel by Baum, originally appearing in 1899 under the title 'A New Wonderland.' While each chapter is a separate story, it can be considered an episodic novel. POOR condition. Original binding MISSING and replaced with unsightly black tape. Covers essentially DETACHED from the text block, with the block itself very shaken and poorly resewn in the left hand margin. Covers faded, soiled and scuffed, with some stray pen marks and staining. Pastedown illustrations chipped and missing pieces. Cloth frayed and worn along the extremities. Scattered staining and soiling in the interior, with some chips and tears along the extremities. Interior gutters repaired with black tape. Very beat up and worn copy.

A children's tale, translated from the Swedish, following a boy's adventures with Father Blueberry, the Blueberry King and the Blueberry Boys. Elsa Beskow was a popular Swedish author, often using Art Nouveau inspired elements in her artwork. GOOD condition. 2 inch circular stain at the center front fore edge. A few small areas of staining to the rear. Moderate browning along the extremities. Minor soiling and a few scattered spots of foxing to the covers. Some bumping and scuffing along the extremities. Minor toning to the paper in the interior.
