Decorative wraps printed in orange and black. Pagination runs 291-384, plus ads.. With black and white illustrations throughout. A single issue of this magazine for children and young adults, notable for the poem by Mary Austin, 'Deer-Star, A Paiute Legend' chronicling the Paiute legend of good hunting. Illustrated by F.Y. Cory. Mary Austin was an American author, known for her depictions of the life and landscape of the Southwest, being one of the first to offer a literary glimpses of the region. Another article of note details the career of steeple climbing, explaining the dangers and thrills involved for those who repaired steeples, flag poles and other objects in town/city skylines. With several illustrations. GOOD+ condition. Minor darkening and a hint of soiling to the wraps. Two small stains along the front hinge where the staples are. Minor chipping and tearing along the extremities. Interior clean and solid with faint stippling to the paper at the upper corner.

Wraps. With a few illustrations within. Single issue of this review of literature, authors and related topics. Of note in this issue is an essay by Mary Austin, "American Women and the Intellectual Life," in which she examines and critiques the way in which women are treated in society as intellectual inferiors, when often they have obtained as much, if not more, education and success, than their male counterparts, discussing the ways in which gender influences treatment. Christopher Morley contributes a brief study of Vachel Lindsay, and Amy Lowell edits the section on poets of the month, offering somewhat critical insight into that month's selection. GOOD condition. Minor soiling, toning and foxing to the wrappers. Moderate to heavy chipping and tearing along the edges.
