Brown cloth. xv, 17-528 pages, including index. With a frontis portrait of Peter the Great. A broad but detailed history of Russia, beginning at 500 BC and the Scythian and Huns to the birth of the Russian Empire and Ruric, Sineous and Truvor. From this time (900 AD) to the present, various rulers and their reigns are discussed, detailing wars, politics, etc. GOOD+ condition. Minor to moderate fading. Mostly minor scuffing. Light wear along the extremities. Minor soiling, with a few faint stains to the covers. Interior solid with general minor browning to the paper. Very minor scattered foxing, with moderate to heavy foxing to the endpapers.

New York Harper and Brothers 1855 no Half-Leather Good No Jacket 
Half leather with dark brown cloth. Marbled page edges and endpapers. 611, 666 pp. With maps and black and white illustrations throughout. A detailed account of the life and military career of Napoleon Bonaparte, recounting his various campaigns and battles, as well as his life as emperor and in exile. GOOD condition. Heavy fading to the covers, with moderate to heavy scuffing to the cloth. Heavy scuffing to the leather at the corners and along the hinges, with some superficial loss, and some wear through at the corners. Leather title bands on the spine mostly chipped away and missing, with a few small remnants present. Some cracking and flaking to the leather on the spine, with a small hole at the foot of volume 1. Minor soiling. Interiors solid, with minor toning to the paper and very minor scattered soiling. Previous owner's gift inscription present, gifted to David Greene Haskins Jr., a Boston, Massachusetts area member of the Anti-Imperialism League in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

A detailed account of the life and military career of Napoleon Bonaparte, recounting his various campaigns and battles, including campaigns in Italy, the Syrian and Egyptian expeditions, etc., as well as his life as emperor. GOOD condition. Heavy fading, moderate soiling and several areas of spotting and staining present to the cloth, Moderate scuffing, heavy along the extremities, with the cloth frayed and worn at the corners and spine tips. Minor insect damage in the gutter between the front cover and first endpaper. Large ownership signature, from New Orleans and dated 1863, on the first endpaper. Text block a bit weak but intact. Scattered foxing, soiling and minor staining.
