1 Hill, A.F. Our Boys. The Personal Experiences of a Soldier in the Army of the Potomac
Philadelphia John E. Potter and Company 1864 no Cloth Fair No Jacket
Green cloth illustrated in blind. Xii, 412, plus 4 pp of ads in the rear. With several illustrations and a frontis. Sabin makes no mention of illustrations or ads in the rear of the first edition, perhaps indicating this to be a later printing/date. Written using colloquial terms and speech, this work offers a look at the daily life of the soldier during the Civil War, recounting the Battle of Drainesville, Manassas, Gaine's Hill, Malvern Hill, Bull Run, Antietam and others. The author was a member of the Eighth Pennsylvania Reserves. FAIR condition. Moderate fading to the covers, with some scuffing and minor soiling. Light mottling to the cloth on the front cover, a bit heavier to the rear. Moderate to heavy scuffing to the cloth along the extremities and hinges. Front interior hinge cracked and starting. Rear hinge weak. Text block shaken but intact. Scattered mostly minor soiling and staining throughout. Sabin 31803.
