A 2 by ˝ inch chip missing from the lower front cover, with three small chips missing along the fore edge. Interior clean and solid with some darkening to the pages.

Hard cover in brown faux leather. No jacket. 130+ pages. A reproduction of a journal of Charles Clark Willoughby (1857-1943), an artist, antiquarian and archaeologist. This handwritten and illustrated works was originally written between 1890-92 while he was a member of the Kennebec Natural History and Antiquarian Society. It contains color illustrations of arrowheads and other items, as well as containing his findings as an amateur archaeologist. This work also contains previously unpublished information on 19th century collections of archaeological material from the Kennebec Valley. Most of the text is a reproduction of handwriting, with notes and foreword in type. GOOD+ condition, EX-MUSEUM LIBRARY (Strawbery Banke). With the usual markings: card pockets, pastedowns and stamping to the interior and page edges. Label taped to the foot of the spine. Minor fading and a hint of soiling to the covers.
